Quick little thing.

Here is a list of things that I liked (or didn't like) in the last few months.

Things I Liked!

  • The Veronica Mars Movie. I didn't cry at the end of it like I did with the TV show because it really satisfied me. But I felt bad for Piz. Watch the TV show and the movie, PEOPLE!
  • The Veronica Mars Show And Book. Become a fan! NOW!
  • Two Books: Fourth Stall Part Three and Fourth Stall Part 2 (By Chris Rylander). The first one wasn't my favorite. but the last two were sooooo good! Read the series!
  • Whisper of the Heart. An amazing Hayao Miyazaki movie. The ending is sort of cheesy, but the movie is good.
  • The Trigger By Audrey L. H. This book is the best! Order it on amazon!
Things that Were Okay

  • The Divergent Movie. They sure did skip a lot of parts.
  • The Fourth Stall One. The beginning was cheesy, but the end was good. Still read the series, because the next books are really got.
Things I didn't Like

WOW I CAN"T THINK OF ANY!!!!!!

Bring Back the Typewriters!

For the past month or two, I have gotten really interested in typewriters. Typewriters are really good ways to write, and although it was created and used before the 21st century, but they are still interesting things. There are two types of typewriters: Manual and electronic. Electronic ones have keyboards like a computer's keyboard, and you don't have to press down very hard on the keys. Manual ones have keys that need to be pressed down really hard, and it takes longer. If you want to try one out, I would suggest starting with an electronic one. Here are some pros and cons of electric type writers:

Pros: A fast way to type something, as easy to type on as a computer without the hassle of printers and internet connection. Plus, they are fun.

Cons: Noisy keys with an annoying dinging sound, and you have to create the margins yourself. Also, it is very hard to cover up typos.

There you go!

Snow!

In a lot of places, there has been a lot of snow. Here we just got a foot, so I encourage everyone to play in *(or hide from) the snow! Here are some tips and ideas.

If the snow is powdery and still snowing, it's not right for building or creating. It is good for making snow angels in, though.

If the snow isn't too sticky, but not too powdery, make a snowman!

It's best to sled when the snow is stick and it's not too deep, so you don't have to trudge up and down the hill!

Castles are best made when there is a lot of sticky snow.

My opinion on Divergent: the book

Over winter break, I read a book called Divergent by Veronica Roth. It is a trilogy, but I'm interviewing the first book.
It is a dystopian version of Chicago, and  because of war, the world has been divided into five factions: Abnegation the Selfless, Dauntless the brave, Candor the honest, Amity the peaceful, and Erudite the intelligent. On a special day of every year the 16 year olds choose what faction they want to devote their lives too. But the day before, they have to take a test, telling them what faction they are right for.
Sixteen year old Beatrice Prior goes in for the tests, but her results are not what she expected. She doesn't get Abnegation, which she was born in, but she gets a combination of Abnegation, Erudite, and Dauntless. It doesn't happen to that many people, and the leaders of the world call it "Divergent." It's a threat to their system, and so the "Divergent" have to be executed. This means Beatrice has a harsh secret to keep. On the next day, she makes an odd choice of faction. She has to go through a tough initiation to stay in her faction, which is hard when you have a secret to keep. This book brings you though her journey, and the tough decisions she has to make to save the system.

This was one of the best books I've ever read. Interesting plot, amazing ending, and real symbolism. The character relationships were realistic, and the characters by themselves were amazing. Although, it was very mature, and I don't think anyone over ten should read it, because it's violent.

I loved this book, and I hope others will read it too!

Ice Skating

Today, my mom and I watched the USA Ice Skating Championships. Ice skating, in my opinion, is amazing. I loved watching large spins and jumps, and doing it yourself is fun too! Plus, when doing it for fun, it's easy to learn. I love doing it, and watching ice dancing is so cool. Plus, when you start, it's not bad if you fall or stumble, because you're starting and that's what happens. Plus, sometimes when it happens, it's funny. And, even if you're not a professional, there is some fun tricks you can try! So try ice skating, and I bet you'll love it!

New Years Resolutions

New Years is here! That means two things: 1) The start of 2014, and 2) Time to make resolutions!
There may be a few questions in the air about resolutions.

First Off, What is a Resolution? What's a New Years Resolution? Good question. A resolution can be a lot of things, but in this term, the dictionary definition is "a firm decision to do or not to do something." Basically, it's when you say that you are going to do something and you aren't turning back. For example, a resolution could be "I am quitting eating waffles."
A New Years Resolution is a Resolution, but you make them for the year ahead, like "Next Year I will quit eating pancakes."

What Kind of Resolutions can I have? Any kind, from world peace to stop biting fingernails to eat sushi.

Do I have to keep it? You know, I don't know. It may be hard to keep, so I think it's okay if you don't keep it completely. Lots of people don't

Well, that's it! Have a Happy New Year!
